The School and Role

This Secondary SEND Independent Alternative Provision, based in Ashington is looking to appoint a passionate Learning Mentor to work in Key Stage 3 or 4 classes on a full-time basis. Working in this Secondary SEND Independent Alternative Provision as part of an established team, the desired Learning Mentor will be working on a small class sized basis with pupils with SEND including Autism, Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs and Cognitive, Learning Needs. This full time Learning Mentor role is long term from November ongoing with the possibility of a permanent vacancy for the right person.

The school aims to meet the needs of the learners to prepare them effectively for adult life through a broad and balanced learning experience which promotes their educational, spiritual, moral, cultural and physical development.

Requirements

The desired Learning Mentor will have;

-          Experience of working with primary or secondary school aged children

-          Experience of working with pupils with SEND

-          A passion for the progress of SEND secondary school pupils

-          An ability to work as part of a team
