Our client is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Assurance to lead their assurance function, encompassing risk management, internal audit, counter fraud, and information governance. What You'll Do:

  • Lead the delivery of the assurance function to achieve best-in-class standards.
  • Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships, ensuring productive collaboration.
  • Oversee risk management, insurance, and information governance framework.
  • Direct the internal audit provision, assessing needs
  • Manage investigations into fraud allegations, ensuring thorough and prompt action.
  • Present high-quality assurance reports to governance structures including the Senior Leadership Team
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, adopting best practises throughout.

Who You Are:

  • Qualifications: CCAB qualified (CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA, MIIA).
  • Experience: Extensive leadership experience in an assurance function, preferably within the public sector.
  • Skills:

- Exceptional ability to lead and engage staff.- Strong technical auditing and accounting skills.- Analytical mindset for complex data interpretation.- Excellent communication and presentation skills.- High levels of integrity and the ability to navigate a political environment.
