Job Title: CNC Miller
Location: Atherstone

Hours: 39 hours per week (4-day week)

  • Mon-Wed: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
  • Thurs: 3:00 PM – Midnight
  • Friday overtime (1.5X)

My client is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to work on universal bed-type milling machines with Heidenhein control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 3 & 4 axis machining and experience working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron. Experience in machining medium to large fabrications and castings is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate Heidenhein control system milling machines.
  • Machine a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron.
  • Work on large fabrications and castings to high tolerances.
  • Safely use overhead cranes.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and produce work to a high standard.
  • Carry out self-inspections to maintain precision.
  • Work with universal milling heads and ensure adherence to required specifications.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or substantial experience in machining.
  • Proficient intool selection, work-holding methods, and understanding cutting parameters.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Previous experience in precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be flexible to cover shifts during holidays.
