Job Title: CNC Miller
Location: Atherstone
Hours: 39 hours per week (4-day week)
- Mon-Wed: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Thurs: 3:00 PM – Midnight
- Friday overtime (1.5X)
My client is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to work on universal bed-type milling machines with Heidenhein control systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 3 & 4 axis machining and experience working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron. Experience in machining medium to large fabrications and castings is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate Heidenhein control system milling machines.
- Machine a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron.
- Work on large fabrications and castings to high tolerances.
- Safely use overhead cranes.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and produce work to a high standard.
- Carry out self-inspections to maintain precision.
- Work with universal milling heads and ensure adherence to required specifications.
- Flexibility to cover shifts when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Time-served apprenticeship or substantial experience in machining.
- Proficient intool selection, work-holding methods, and understanding cutting parameters.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Previous experience in precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be flexible to cover shifts during holidays.
