Location: Atherstone
Hours: 39 hours per week (4-day week)
- Mon-Wed: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
- Thurs: 3:00 PM – Midnight
- Friday overtime (At 1.5X)
My client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, set, and operate Fanuc-controlled lathes with live tooling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 3 & 4 axis machining and experience working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron. Experience machining medium to large fabrications and castings is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program, set, and operate Fanuc control lathes with live tooling.
- Machine a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron.
- Machine large fabrications and castings to high tolerances.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce high-quality work.
- Conduct own inspections and maintain high precision.
- Safely use overhead cranes and other necessary equipment.
- Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team efforts.
- Flexibility to cover shifts when needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Time-served apprenticeship or significant experience in machining.
- Strong knowledge of work-holding methods, tool selection, and cutting parameters.
- Previous experience in precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
- Ability to work independently and maintain reliability.
- Must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support shift cover during holidays.
