Location: Atherstone
Hours: 39 hours per week (4-day week)

  • Mon-Wed: 4:00 PM – 2:00 AM
  • Thurs: 3:00 PM – Midnight
  • Friday overtime (At 1.5X)

My client is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, set, and operate Fanuc-controlled lathes with live tooling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of 3 & 4 axis machining and experience working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron. Experience machining medium to large fabrications and castings is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program, set, and operate Fanuc control lathes with live tooling.
  • Machine a wide range of materials including stainless steel, aluminium, mild steel, and cast iron.
  • Machine large fabrications and castings to high tolerances.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to produce high-quality work.
  • Conduct own inspections and maintain high precision.
  • Safely use overhead cranes and other necessary equipment.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team efforts.
  • Flexibility to cover shifts when needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Time-served apprenticeship or significant experience in machining.
  • Strong knowledge of work-holding methods, tool selection, and cutting parameters.
  • Previous experience in precision engineering/manufacturing is essential.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain reliability.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable, with the ability to support shift cover during holidays.
