The Role
An opportunity has arisen for a qualified Chartered Surveyor to join a busy Rural team. This role involves providing professional advice to a variety of clients, including individual property owners, buyers, developers, and investors, helping them maximise their property portfolios.
Based in the Rural North division, with offices in Atherstone and Ashby de la Zouch, the role covers a wide geographical area. While teamwork is vital, you will also need to demonstrate the ability to work independently and use your initiative.
Key Responsibilities
- Property Agency: Preparing marketing reports, property listings, advertising, negotiations, and managing sales progression.
- Valuations: Conducting Red Book valuations on a range of properties.
- RPA: Handling Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applications, Countryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS), and other grants.
- Management: Overseeing land management under Farm Business Tenancies (FBTs), Grazing Licence agreements, and Contract Farming arrangements.
- Planning: Preparing and submitting planning applications.
- Development: Advising clients on development opportunities, option agreements, and promotion agreements.
- Dispersal Sales: Assisting with farm dispersal auction sales, collective sales, and fodder sales.
This list is not exhaustive, and you may be required to undertake other responsibilities as necessary.
As your career develops, you will take on greater responsibility for clients and projects. Outside of work, you are encouraged to engage with the local community and participate in relevant activities.
Skills & Qualifications
- MRICS Qualified Surveyor.
- Registered RICS Valuer (preferred but not essential).
- Strong affinity for and understanding of farming and the agricultural sector.
- Previous experience in areas such as agency, valuation, development, and compulsory purchase order (CPO) work.
- Confident networker capable of building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organised, numerate, and comfortable with technology.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- A proactive, "can-do" attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
- Team player who can also work independently when required.
- Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
