Multi-Trades Recruitment is looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to Join a long-established, family-run company with a growing turnover and expanding workload. Who specialize in house building and offer excellent opportunities for employee growth and increased responsibilities as their projects and turnover increase.

Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor to support project teams. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a house building organization and will be eager to contribute to a dynamic and expanding company. While familiarity with BidScreenXL take-off software or FONN project management software is beneficial, training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with bulk builders' quantities take-offs for work elements and trade packages, preparing summary schedules for pricing by subcontractors and material suppliers (primarily masonry, joinery, and sundry elements) [Using BidScreenXL software].
  • Issue enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Review and compare subcontract and supplier quotations.
  • Draft and place subcontract and material supplier orders.

Managing Project Finances:

  • Visit sites to verify the accuracy of subcontractors' payment applications and agree on the correct amounts due.
  • Issue subcontract payment notices.
  • Reconcile and check all project costs monthly, process invoices with Accounts for payment, and update Project Cost Control Schedules.
  • Monitor and update Project Budgets in line with actual costs and instructions/changes.

Project Administration:

  • Manage design information and resolve technical issues.
  • Issue and monitor instructions and changes.
  • Handle building completion information, handover, snagging, and defects using the FONN Building Software Package.

Estimating:

  • Prepare budgets for potential future projects.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in a house building organization.
  • Willingness to learn new software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
