We’re looking for a Warehouse Shift Manager to join our operation on a new contract at our Multi-user site in Hams Hall, Birmingham. You’ll support the operational leaders to ensure, through deployment and team management that all activity is completed in a timely and accurate manner, constantly achieving departmental KPIs.
Working the Night shift, Monday to Friday, 22:00 to 06:00, we do require some flex at peak times, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £42,560 per annum inclusive of shift allowance, and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:
- Managing warehouse team leaders and operatives to the correct company standards and behaviours
- Managing your team to deliver productive shifts and comply with all SLA’s for inbound and outbound
- Achieve department KPI's through effective use of resources and management of staff
- Meet deadlines to achieve the sites KPIs
- Planning and co-ordinating the allocation of labour within the shift to meet operational deadlines and controlling overtime, agency and temp staff levels
What you need to succeed at GXO:
- Experienced people manager – coaching and welfare as well as the formal people processes
- Commercial awareness – good knowledge of KPI management
- Experience of managing operational teams including deployment to meet changing priorities
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of continuous improvement principles
