Assistant Management Accountant

Are you an ambitious finance professional looking to develop your career in management accounting? Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join their dynamic finance team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Management Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the provision of timely and accurate monthly management accounts, assisting with balance sheet reconciliations, and contributing to financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial statements
  • Support the Financial Accounting team with balance sheet reconciliations and external audit schedules
  • Ensure accurate coding of transactions, including purchase order accruals
  • Prepare and post monthly journals with proper documentation
  • Contribute to Value for Money initiatives across the organisation
  • Monitor and improve financial processes, particularly following system implementations
  • Assist in the annual financial statement preparation and liaise with auditors
About You:
  • Studying towards or already holding a professional finance qualification (e.g. AAT, ACCA, CIMA, ACA)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in financial reporting and reconciliation
  • Experience in management accounting or a similar role is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong Excel and financial systems experience.
