Financial Accountant

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.

Job Purpose

Manage the financial records and systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Assist in preparing financial reports, including monthly and year-end accounts.
Support strong financial controls and improve financial processes.

Main Duties

Maintain financial records, including the general ledger and fixed asset register.
Process financial transactions such as accruals, prepayments, and internal transfers.
Reconcile accounts monthly, ensuring accurate records of payments and receipts.
Assist in preparing financial reports and statutory returns.
Work with other teams to ensure smooth fee processing and financial management.
Provide financial reports and guidance to budget holders for better cost management.

Requirements

Finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4, or equivalent).
Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and using financial systems.
Able to start quickly
Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance software.
Excellent accuracy, numeracy, and organisational skills.
Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
