Financial Accountant

Dovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Aylesbury.
Job Purpose
- Manage the financial records and systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Assist in preparing financial reports, including monthly and year-end accounts.
- Support strong financial controls and improve financial processes.
Main Duties
- Maintain financial records, including the general ledger and fixed asset register.
- Process financial transactions such as accruals, prepayments, and internal transfers.
- Reconcile accounts monthly, ensuring accurate records of payments and receipts.
- Assist in preparing financial reports and statutory returns.
- Work with other teams to ensure smooth fee processing and financial management.
- Provide financial reports and guidance to budget holders for better cost management.
Requirements
- Finance qualification (ACCA, CIMA, AAT Level 4, or equivalent).
- Experience in financial reporting, reconciliations, and using financial systems.
- Able to start quickly
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and finance software.
- Excellent accuracy, numeracy, and organisational skills.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and work under pressure
