The Client

Our client is an award-winning mental health and wellbeing charity offering support to people of all ages through social and therapeutic horticulture in a welcoming, inclusive safe environment. The charity is located in a beautiful six-acre garden and nature reserve near Wendover, in Buckinghamshire, delivering wellbeing programmes, volunteering opportunities, corporate volunteering days, corporate wellbeing days, and much more. The charity also plays its part in protecting the environment through nature conservation, maintaining a nature reserve growing heritage fruit trees, black poplars and wildflowers.

This is an exciting time for the charity, publishing its first 3-year strategy in October setting out an ambitious plan for 2027, including significantly increasing its capacity to support more people and diversifying income generation to include corporate fundraising, which why they are now looking to recruit an experienced Corporate Fundraising Manager.

The Role

To generate a new sustainable income stream for the charity through partnerships with private sector companies to meet their strategic goals. The role will create a new charity partnership package tailored to meet corporate ESG targets, proactively engaging with the local business community and larger corporates operating in Buckinghamshire.

Create and implement a new engaging corporate fundraising plan that is in line with the organisations strategic plan and leverages their social value and environmental credential. Implement and maintain a rolling programme of prospect identification, research and nurturing of relationships for corporate fundraising.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Develop and promote a charity partnership package to secure a 3-year commitment to support the charity.
  • Explore and innovate in all areas of potential corporate support such as Payroll Giving, Charity of the Year, sponsorship and gift in kind and develop an attractive package of benefits for the corporates.
  • Research, network, and connect at the appropriate level in businesses to establish long-term, high-value mutual partnerships.
  • Employ an engaging and innovative communication strategy to steward prospects and supporters.
  • Deliver compelling presentations, and site tours of the charity working with colleagues to win hearts and minds and inspire them to support our charitable purpose.
  • Create and deliver compelling proposals for prospective partners aligning with their core values and ESG objectives.
  • Organise and host Business networking events with key speakers
  • Be an ambassador, confidently presenting the charitys key messages to increase awareness of the organisation and encourage people to support our cause.
  • Establish appropriate means of monitoring and evaluating activity and ensure that corporates receive regular and high-quality reports as required.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining the new donor database in line with the GDPR policy and maximise the benefits of the system in communicating and engaging with their corporate partners effectively.
  • Complete accurate and up-to date information on all donors and prospects, including giving history, relationships, contacts and submitted proposals.
  • Produce regular management reports and analyses to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the fundraising campaigns and monitor budget expenditure.
  • Follow fundraising best practice, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice such as the Fundraising Regulator and the Institute of Fundraising Guidelines.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance and confidentiality.
  • Attend and contribute to team and departmental meetings and support the wider team to deliver events at the Chairty.

The Candidate

Essential

  • Proven success in a corporate fundraising role with a track record in exceeding targets.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to deliver fundraising pitches, ideas, and project updates to a range of audiences in a clear, inspiring, and confident way.
  • Excellent written skills with a proven ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations and report and engage with people at all levels.
  • Experienced in developing and launching a corporate fundraising package.
  • Well-developed ability to build, manage and develop relationships with company supporters.
  • Proactive, motivated, creative with the ability to use initiative and exhibit positive energy.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to make an impact and connect with people.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to organise and plan own work, identifying conflicting demands and establishing clear priorities in order to meet agreed objectives.
  • IT literate and experienced in using Microsoft Office and administratively self-sufficient.
  • Flexible to attend fundraising and networking events outside normal working hours.
  • Hold a current driving licence and use of a vehicle.

Desirable

  • Fundraising qualification.
  • Member of the Chartered Institute of Fundraising.

The Terms

  • 24 hours per week (3 working days or flexible working hours over 4 days ideally Monday to Thursday)
  • £36,500 to £38,500 FTE (depending on experience)
  • Based out of the beautiful offices in Wendover
  • 25 days annual leave plus 8 days bank holidays (pro-rata)
