Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineering Manager

Trust: Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust

Location: Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Mandeville Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, HP21 8AL

Shift Pattern: Monday- Friday, 9-5pm.

Pay Rate: £ 29.33 per hour

Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust (BHT) is an integrated provider of acute hospital and community services for people living in Buckinghamshire as well as some people living across the borders in surrounding counties.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to manage and maintain electrical systems, plant equipment, and services. You will play a key role in ensuring a safe and suitable environment for patients, staff, and visitors, while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage Electrical Systems: Oversee the operation and maintenance of electrical systems across the Trust, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and fit for purpose.
  • Contract Management: Manage electrical contracts, ensuring value for money, quality service, and compliance with regulations.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Offer expert advice on electrical systems to staff and contractors.
  • Ensure Safety & Compliance: Make sure all electrical systems meet health and safety standards and statutory requirements.
  • Planning & Strategy: Develop and implement long-term maintenance plans and strategies to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
  • Emergency Response: Support the Trust's emergency on-call system, providing technical assistance when needed.
  • Sustainability: Work with the Energy Manager to improve energy efficiency across the Trust's estate.
  • Staff Training: Provide guidance and training on electrical systems to staff and contractors.
  • You will be required to travel to various Trust locations

Requirements:

  • Experience: Strong background in electrical engineering, with experience in large-scale systems (healthcare setting is a plus).
  • Qualifications: Relevant electrical qualifications (e.g., HNC/HND or equivalent).
  • Leadership: Ability to manage teams and contractors effectively.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Compliance: Knowledge of health and safety, NHS standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to travel across Trust sites and respond to emergencies.
  • Possession of a full UK driving licence.
  • AP - LV and HV
  • Experience with HTMs or HBN's is highly advantageous
