Mercy Ships International

Finance Business Partner – Projects

£65,000 - £75,000 + Remote Working

I am proud to be partnering with Mercy Ships in their search for a passionate Finance Business Partner to lead the project management for the building of our Ships. This role is central to our operation and will influence the performance of our organisation

Mercy Ships is an international charity that operates hospital ships to deliver free, world-class healthcare services, capacity building, and sustainable development to those without access in the developing world. Our mission is to bring hope and healing to the forgotten poor.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a critical role in supporting the organisation’s deliverables as you will project manage the operation of building new ships that will be deployed. You will act as a strategic partner to program and project managers, providing financial advice and insight to drive sound decision-making.

You will oversee a project portfolio that will cover a variety of priorities including the building of new ships along with the maintenance of their existing fleet. You will look after the accounting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting for a key project, as well as monitor the financial performance of the overall project including, expenditure tracking and variances against budgets. In addition to this you will prepare detailed financial analyses for project-specific funding.

This position requires a qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA Accountant with a strong background in project accounting, financial planning, and reporting. An understanding of the complexities of manufacturing, or large construction projects is helpful.

In addition to the above, we may prioritise applicants with Mandarin or Cantonese language skills given the global reach of their projects, but is not essential.
