About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing financial aspects of high end residential refurbishment projects and luxury new builds from a client side perspective. You will work closely with architects, designers, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cost Estimation: Preparing accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment. This involves analysing tender documents, bills of quantities, and drawings.
- Contract Administration: Managing contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring compliance with contract terms and conditions. This includes issuing work orders, payment certificates, and variation orders.
- Commercial Management: Monitoring and controlling project costs, including tracking expenses, preparing valuations, and identifying potential cost-saving measures.
- Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact the project's financial performance. This involves developing risk management strategies and contingency plans.
- Claims and Variations: Preparing and submitting claims for additional costs and variations to contracts. This involves analysing contract documents, gathering supporting evidence, and negotiating with clients and contractors.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Quantity Surveyinh
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surevyorin the construction industry, with a focus on high end residential projects
- Strong understanding of construction processes and techniques
- Experience working on heritage and listed building projects
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
