The Edwin Group is seeking experienced Youth Workers to work in a forward-thinking school that caters to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. The role is to begin as soon as possible and is permanent.
About the role:
- The Youth Worker will be supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs on a one-to-one basis.
- Building a strong rapport with students and supporting with their complex medical needs.
- Following the guidance of the teacher but using their own initiative to help the students thrive in school.
- Working 30 – 37 hours per week, term-time only.
- Have the choice of working with primary or secondary aged children.Â

- Located in the charming town of Aylesbury – easily accessible with parking and public transport links from areas such as Leighton Buzzard, Hemel Hempstead, Bicester and Luton.
- Caters to students with Severe and Profound Learning Difficulties and is very well-resourced.
- Keen to help staff progress in their career with the opportunity to become an Unqualified Teacher.
- A positive staff culture with wellbeing initiatives running all year round including 15 Mental Health First Aiders.
About you:
- A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce.
- Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check*
- Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds.
- A non-judgmental and caring approach with a resilient and resourceful character.
