Specialist Children’s Speech & Language Therapist Band 6/7 (CAMHS)

Location: Aylesbury Bucks

Working Hours : 37.5hours

Start date: ASAP End date: Ongoing

Position Summary:

  • The post holder will be part of the Buckinghamshire CAMHS Neurodevelopmental Team, providing specialist Speech and Language Therapy to neurodivergent children and young people up to the age of 18 with impaired speech, language, and communication development and Mental Health Needs in a range of settings including homes, clinics and schools.

  • He/she will have responsibility for their own caseload, as an autonomous practitioner, adapting their approach to meet the needs of the child / young person.

  • They will work with the Multi Disciplinary Team to ensure an efficient, high quality therapy service is delivered which is evidence-based and centred around the needs of the child/young person.

  • They will provide line management and clinical leadership for qualified and non-qualified staff working at lower grades.

  • They will work in partnership with other members of the multidisciplinary team including Education, Social and Health Care, and external stakeholders to deliver recommended provision and to achieve optimum outcomes for children and young people.
