About Our Client

Our client is a leading global supplier within the food, beverage, and nutrition industries, with a well-established presence in the UK. They operate a state-of-the-art facility in Aylesford, Kent, and are seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join their team and oversee the smooth operation of engineering and facility maintenance activities across the site.

The Role

As the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring all equipment and machinery operate efficiently and safely. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of food safety, health, and safety compliance, while also driving continuous improvements across the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of engineers, providing technical support where needed.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of all maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct machinery audits and deliver toolbox talks.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and developing safe systems of work.
  • Support ongoing site development projects, working closely with the Operations and General Manager.
  • Take ownership of maintenance reporting systems and ensure accurate record-keeping.
  • Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives to boost productivity and reduce costs.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Formal engineering qualification with strong electrical and mechanical installation experience.
  • Experience within a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) environment.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations (IOSH or higher).
  • Proven ability to manage a team, delegate tasks effectively, and deliver training.
  • Excellent communication, numeracy, and IT skills, including MS Office.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving, with a focus on improving operational efficiency.
