About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This role offers a unique opportunity to lead our Finance function and develop other associated areas of the business. Initially, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the Finance team, covering maternity leave, and transition into a predominantly strategic Finance role. You will also oversee Health and Safety, IT, and Stock Control, introducing and leading effective change across a significant portion of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Finance:

  • Direct and oversee the finance team, ensuring motivation and development.
  • Provide high-level advice on financial strategy to achieve business objectives.
  • Analyse financial data for insights and recommendations.
  • Develop and monitor the annual operating budget.
  • Provide financial advice to managers and staff.
  • Oversee financial accounts preparation and conduct financial forecasting.
  • Implement an internal audit programme and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Develop systems, policies, and procedures for effective financial management.
  • Monitor external contracts and services for value.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
  • Oversee cash flow and work with the sales team on product profitability.

Stock Control:

  • Ensure effective stock control to balance supply and demand.
  • Motivate and develop stock control staff.
  • Develop efficient stock control processes and forecast planning.
  • Oversee regular inventory audits.

Health & Safety:

  • Collaborate with the Health & Safety Manager to balance requirements with business needs.
  • Develop a proactive health and safety culture.

IT:

  • Oversee technology operations and evaluate them against goals.
  • Work with the Business Systems Manager to embrace changing technology.
  • Progress IT security prevention.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Direct Reports: Finance Team, Stock Control Team, H&S Manager, Business Systems Manager
  • Key Internal Relationships: Executive Team, Sales, Purchasing, Production/Warehouse
  • Key External Relationships: Banks, Auditors, Insurance Brokers

Requirements:

  • Professional Accounting Qualifications (ACCA, CIMA)
  • Extensive experience in Financial Management and Reporting
  • Proven Leadership and Team Management Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools
  • Significant manufacturing/production industry experience
  • Strong Analytical Skills and Advanced Accounting Knowledge
  • Excellent Communication and Strategic Thinking Skills
  • Technological Proficiency and Regulatory Compliance exposure
  • Highly organised with a can-do attitude and adaptability
