My client based in Aylesford is looking for a Finishing Manager to join their team!
Employing over 100 personnel in the design, manufacture and distribution of product, they work with major global, blue-chip brands, producing for homewares, cosmetics, food and beverage and home entertainment markets. They are accredited with internationally recognised manufacturing, environmental and quality certifications.
The finishing manager will be responsible for the smooth running of the finishing departments (die-cutting , gluing and windowing) and management of Team leaders and supervisors in a wide range of operational and employee areas. The role will be actively involved in developing and implementing plans and procedures in line with business goals and objectives. The finishing manager will join an existing team reporting directly to the operations director.
Your main duties will be:
- Maintain and re-prioritize production schedule in liaison with planning manager based on changes in resource , customer , job requirements , inputs or constraints.
- Ensuring personnel are allocated effectively throughout the finishing area according to requirements and employee capabilities/competencies , in liaison with the finishing team leaders.
- Ensuring machinery and area falling within remit of responsibility are maintained to a safe, effective level and that any necessary intervention are communicated to relevant departments in accordance with business working practices
- Manage staff according to business standards and policies (appraisals, discipline, training, development ect) creating an environment of positivity , teamwork and cooperation.
- Playing a full and active part in the Operations leadership team , helping implement strategies that will meet the requirements of stakeholders and drive business forward
- Define and communicate performance expectations for staff, including coaching and counselling in the performance of job responsibility , undertaking regular reviews to identify and set development targets.
- Management of accurate and timely production records using business information management systems to manage production output with emphasis on efficiencies and quality in line with agreed KPI's
- Identify and communicate production Non-Conformances to QA team, implementing corrective action as agreed
- Other duties deemed necessary and appropriate with this management role.
Ideally need a minimum of 3 years previous management experience, experience working within the packaging sector is essential. You will also be working Monday-Friday 8am-4pm with a 40 minute Paid break.
