Location: Aylesford

Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 DOE + performance bonus

Monday - Friday: 08:00 - 17:00

Company description

Connect Personnel are representing a Company that specialises in Sand and Gravity Die Casting. They are diverse and a skilled company producing aluminium gravity die castings from commercial grades to class one and has approvals to ISO 9001:2015 and AS 9100 Rev D. It has an exceptionally well-equipped sand foundry, producing specification cast irons, SG, as well as bronze and aluminium.

Role Specific

· Operate the foundry die casting furnaces to heat aluminium ingots.

· Measure and maintain temperature of the furnaces.

· Treat molten aluminium through addition of additives and flux.

· Inspect die tooling for suitability for manufacture, cleaning and preparing as required.

· Heat required die tooling to required temperatures prior to manufacture.

· Transfer molten metal into pre-prepared die tooling through use of handheld ladles.

· Use site MRP system to track specific job requirements, (pouring temperatures, pour speeds, etc), and to book off quantities of castings manufactured.

· Prepare aluminium dabs and process these through the spectrometer for composition analysis, monitoring conformance of the results.

· Ensure manufacturing activities are carried out in a safe and compliant manner.

· Continuously ensure good working order of all tools, equipment, patterns, lighting, and premises.

· Maintain and ensure good housekeeping and organisation of the working areas.

General Requirements

· Maintain a safe working environment.

· Engage in Continuous Improvement practices.

· Undertake training to develop capabilities within the production areas.

· To perform additional duties as required by senior management.

· Be proactive in reporting near misses.
