- Define and put into practice the site's adherence to legal, food safety, and quality standards
- Take the lead in promoting food safety and quality, making sure that BRCGS, customer, and any other site standards are followed, and that continuous improvement is ensured
- You will serve as the primary liaison for technical customer visits and audits, must be able to show that they are actively involved in the factory and possess a coaching and motivating style
- Provide team training and development, completion of annual appraisals and support where required
- Drive audit-ready daily standards in the factory environment and documentation, and making sure retailer and third-party standards are fulfilled and maintained throughout the site
- Implement and manage the system including completion and review of procedures, paperwork and spreadsheets
- Be the main point of contact for all retailer management, including in-person meetings, reviews, and problems, as well as assistance with managing retailer systems and updates
- This is a customer facing role dealing with our customers so experience of working with the major supermarkets is essential
- Previous experience within Technical in the food sector
- Previous management experience within a technical team
- Degree level or similar in food science
- HACCP Level 4 and Food Safety Level 4
- Auditor training
- Knowledge of retailer systems and codes of practice
- BRC Lead Audit trained
