Accounts Assistant | Permanent | Co Antrim

Reed Accountancy & Finance are delighted to be working with a commercial business in Co Antrim who are actively recruiting within their finance team for an Accounts Assistant.

This role offers a brilliant opportunity to join a structured team and progress.

This role is full time, office based, and the hours of work are 8.30am to 4.30pm

Reporting to the Management Accountant, the Accounts Assistant will work as part of a team and will initially focus on the management of the purchase ledger but will also assist with month-end processes, accruals and prepayments, preparation of VAT returns and assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts.

More specific duties will include:

Manage Accounts Payable process: Process supplier invoices, compile monthly supplier payment runs, reconcile supplier statements

Processing interdepartmental invoices and allocation to cost centres

Analysis and preparation of employee expenses

Preparation and posting of journals at month end, including accruals and prepayments

Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register

Preparation and submission of VAT returns

Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts

Stock reconciliations and assisting in stock control and reporting

Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

The successful candidate will ideally:

Be qualified AAT or part qualified CIMA / ACCA or equivalent

Have previous experience in preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations

Possess excellent general IT skills including advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel (regular use of pivot tables, V look-ups, advanced formulae)
