Workshop Controller | Banbury | Full Time | £30,000-£35,000 Dependant on experience

As the Workshop Controller, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the workshop operates efficiently and effectively.
Are you the right person for the job?
- Previous experience in a similar Workshop Controller role
- A deep understanding of vehicle servicing and repair processes
- Strong background in people management within an automotive workshop
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; familiarity with Pinewood or 1Link is a plus
- GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
- Ability to plan, prioritise, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ensuring high standards of workmanship and accuracy in reporting
- Ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and customers
What will your role look like?
- Overseeing and allocating work to Service Technicians, ensuring adherence to manufacturer guidelines and quality standards
- Proactively planning workshop capacity to maximize productivity and reduce downtime
- Providing technical support and guidance to staff and customers, maintaining a high standard of technical expertise
- Ensuring all repairs and services meet customer expectations and comply with safety and quality standards
- Monitoring training needs, conducting quality checks, and driving continuous improvement within the team
- Supporting the service administration team to deliver exceptional customer experiences
- Accurately interpret job cards/repair orders and ensure compliance with quality procedures
- Manage workshop tools and equipment, ensuring proper maintenance and calibration
- Communicate effectively with the Parts Department, customers, and Technical Service Advisors to resolve delays or additional requirements
- Keep the workshop clean, safe, and organised while maintaining company property
- Achieve company and personal targets while adhering to health and safety regulations
