You will work closely with prison staff and other stakeholders to encourage an effective transition and pre-release preparation for participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate an 8-week structured programme within the Community Living Unit (CLU) for 8-10 participants every afternoon.
  • Support offenders in overcoming barriers to resettlement, including housing, parole, mental health, well-being, and goal setting.
  • Deliver group mentoring and life skills sessions, ensuring active participation and engagement.
  • Adapt and enhance existing materials, researching and creating bespoke resources as needed.
  • Assess and report on prisoners’ progress, compiling detailed reports to be sent at the end of each programme cycle.
  • Confidently manage challenging behaviour and interactions with potentially challenging and complex offenders.
  • Work collaboratively with two other wing facilitators to support the rehabilitation process.
  • Partake in community days on Fridays, incorporating soft skills training and practical activities, including cooking and baking sessions using the on-site kitchen.

We are looking for people who have:

  • Demonstrated success in a target-driven environment with the ability to drive performance through focused performance management.
  • Proven experience in delivering training and interventions, preferably within the justice sector or similar environments.
  • The ability to build, manage, and maintain strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.

  • A dedication to the rehabilitation of prisoners, ensuring a supportive and empowering environment for participants.

Employee Benefits:As well as helping to make a positive impact on people’s lives, as an employee of the client you will have access to the following benefits:

  • 25 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays), with incremental increases post 3 years’ service up to 28 days, and the option to purchase additional holiday.
  • 2 days paid volunteering leave each year.
