We are working with a manufacturing company based in Bar Hill who are looking to add a positive and enthusiastic Production Planner to their team. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless production operations by converting planned orders into actionable production schedules, managing material shortages, and addressing production and customer service queries.

This Production Planner role is essential for maintaining efficiency, accuracy, and on-time delivery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, contributing to the company's reputation for excellence in delivering solutions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Accurately convert planned orders into production orders at the appropriate time to ensure timely production
  • Identify material shortages during the order conversion process, update a shortage tracking spreadsheet, and promptly communicate with the purchasing team to resolve issues
  • Assign site commit dates to production orders and ensure all components are available for kitting
  • Review pick lists to identify and resolve any issues, such as genuine stock shortages, incorrect part numbers, or BOM errors
  • Regularly monitor and update the shortage report, ensuring it reflects the most current and accurate information
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for production-related and customer service queries, providing clear and timely resolutions
  • Assist with stocktake activities ensuring accuracy in inventory levels
  • Investigate and resolve production order variances, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting
  • Assist with processing and tracking material transactions to maintain efficient workflow and inventory control

Person Specification

  • Previous planning experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience using MRP systems (SAP desirable but not essential)
  • It is essential you are highly competent with Microsoft Excel
  • Great communication skills
  • Proactive and highly organised individual with attention to detail

Hours of Work, Pay, and benefits

  • Up to £32,000
  • Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:45
  • Friday 08:00 to 12:30
