An opportunity has emerged for a Bookkeeper within a well-regarded care group. This position is crafted for individuals who are adept at managing multiple financial tasks including handling invoices, overseeing cash flow, and preparing reports for month-end and year-end accounts. The role demands a candidate who is not only independent and adaptable but also capable of prioritizing effectively within a dynamic team environment.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • It is observed that the Finance Assistant will be entrusted with the bookkeeping tasks, diligently entering all financial transactions into the Sage system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • The individual will manage month-end closures, encompassing payroll processing, reconciliations, and the preparation of management reports.
  • Analysing financial discrepancies and resolving differences found during bank reconciliations will be a regular duty.
  • The role includes supporting both accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • The Finance Assistant will handle the recording and payment approvals of purchase invoices, ensuring timely settlement within payment terms.
  • Responsibilities extend to managing the sales ledger, overseeing the billing process, and ensuring efficient collections.
  • The individual will also engage in resolving discrepancies, liaising with relevant internal departments or external entities as necessary.
  • Participation in ad-hoc projects, such as audits and budgeting, will be required, especially during critical periods.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • A background of 2-3 years in a similar role, ideally within a finance department, is expected.
  • Part-Qualified AAT or ongoing training for ACCA are considered beneficial.
  • Proficiency in SAGE50 and Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • The role requires excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, is crucial.
