An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Bookkeeper within a well-regarded care group. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in care or hospitality, adept at managing multiple financial tasks including handling invoices, overseeing cash flow, and preparing reports for month-end and year-end accounts. The position demands a candidate who is independent, adaptable, and capable of prioritizing effectively within a dynamic team environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Diligently enter all financial transactions into the Sage system, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage month-end closures, encompassing payroll processing, reconciliations, and the preparation of management reports.
  • Analyse financial discrepancies and resolve differences found during bank reconciliations.
  • Support both accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Handle the recording and payment approvals of purchase invoices, ensuring timely settlement within payment terms.
  • Manage the sales ledger, oversee the billing process, and ensure efficient collections.
  • Engage in resolving discrepancies, liaising with relevant internal departments or external entities as necessary.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects, such as audits and budgeting, especially during critical periods.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A background of 2-3 years in a similar role, ideally within a finance department of a care or hospitality organisation.
  • Part-Qualified AAT or ongoing training for ACCA are considered beneficial.
  • Proficiency in SAGE50 and Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team.
