Our work is centred around providing emotional, social, and practical support tailored to the needs of each individual.
The Role: As a Residential Child Support Worker, you will play a key role in the day-to-day care and well being of the young people in our care. You will: · Provide emotional support and guidance to children · Assist with daily routines such as school runs, meal preparation, and recreational activities. · Help maintain a safe, structured, and caring environment. · Work alongside a multidisciplinary team to implement care plans and behavioural support strategies. · Conduct regular key work sessions with the young people · Support children in overcoming personal challenges and achieving their goals. · Keep accurate records and contribute to reports on the childrens progress and well being.
Key Responsibilities: · Building positive relationships with children to foster trust and stability. · Managing challenging behaviour with a calm and patient approach. · Encouraging and promoting the development of life skills. · Following safeguarding procedures and promoting a culture of safety and respect. · Liaising with the appropriate agencies who are involved in the young persons care
Requirements: · A minimum of 1 years UK experience working with children and young people within a residential setting · Be able to provide professional references for anywhere you have worked within the last 3 years · Must have an Enhanced Child and Adult DBS registered on the update service or be willing to process a new one with Prospero. · A caring, empathetic, and non-judgemental approach. · Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team. · Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. · A commitment to the safeguarding and welfare of children.
