Financial Controller

A thriving construction-focused SME in North London is seeking a dynamic and experienced financial professional to join their team as Financial Controller. This hands-on role offers an exciting opportunity to partner with senior management and drive financial improvements and efficiencies across the company's operations.

As a key member of the leadership team, you'll be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business, including reporting, planning, analysis, forecasting, and payroll functions. Your expertise will be crucial in guiding the company's financial strategy and ensuring its continued growth and success in the competitive construction industry.

Financial Controller Key duties include:

  • Prepare and analyse financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements
  • Develop and maintain budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial projections
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
  • Manage payroll operations and ensure compliance with tax regulations
  • Implement and maintain robust financial controls and risk management procedures
  • Collaborate with external auditors and accountants for year-end reporting and tax compliance
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

Candidate profile:

  • ACCA qualified or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role. QBE considered but will need industry experience
  • Strong knowledge of financial planning, budgeting, and analysis within the construction industry
  • Proficient in financial management software, including SAGE.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across departments
  • Proven track record of driving financial improvements and efficiency's in an SME environment

This position requires a flexible, can-do attitude and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced SME environment. You'll need to be comfortable working on-site and collaborating closely with various departments to drive financial improvements across the organisation.

In return, we offer a competitive salary range of £55,000 - £60,000 per annum, along with benefits including a company pension and cycle to work scheme. This is a full-time, permanent position based at their North London office
