Description
As the Financial Controller, you will be a pivotal part of the management team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the business. Your duties will include:
- Leading the finance function, ensuring robust financial controls are in place
- Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support strategic decision-making
- Managing cash flow, working capital, and monitoring financial performance
- Ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting standards
- Overseeing payroll, VAT returns, tax, and year-end audits
- Liaising with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and HMRC
- Managing and mentoring a small finance team, providing guidance and development
Profile
Key Requirements:- Proven experience as an interim Financial Controller, ideally within the construction or related industries
- ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent qualification
- Strong understanding of financial regulations, tax, and audit processes
- Experience with project-based accounting and cost control in the construction sector
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills to interact with both financial and non-financial stakeholders
- Proficiency in relevant financial software (experience with construction-specific systems is a plus)
