Phillips Grant Associates are supporting an accountancy practice based in Barnet to recruit a Junior Accountant position which requires someone to have previous experience within practice and to be looking to study towards a professional qualification. The organisation looks to recruit people to the small and friendly offices who want to develop with them long term. This is a two partner firm with aspirations to continue to grow. The position does offer a lot of client contact and dealing with senior management, HNW, entrepreneurs etc so you will get some great exposure whilst developing your career.

  • Accounting Support: Assist in preparing draft accounts, management accounts, and KPIs for diverse SME clients.
  • Bookkeeping: Handle data entry, reconciliations, and maintain accurate financial records.
  • Compliance: Ensure clients comply with HMRC and Companies House regulations, including preparing and submitting CT600s and VAT returns.
  • Client Interaction: Attend client meetings, respond to queries, and provide high-quality support.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with senior accountants and team members, sharing knowledge and supporting projects.
  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and development to enhance your skills and career prospects.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience: 1-2 years in an accounting practice with a strong grasp of accounting principles.
  • Education: Currently studying or planning to study for an ACCA or ACA qualification.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Good organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Eager to learn and grow in the accounting field.
  • Business-savvy with the ability to add value to clients.
  • A self-starter who works well independently and within a team.
