As a Senior Scrub Nurse/Theatre Practitioner, you will:
- Provide senior scrub experience to ensure the safe, effective, and efficient flow of the ophthalmic theatre pathway
- Deliver excellent care to all patients, with specific responsibility for theatres and patient flow
- Adhere to departmental policies, practice standards, regulations, and governance to provide high-quality, cost-effective care
- Fulfill on-call commitments associated with the role
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- Registration as a Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner
- Current NMC/ODP registration with no restrictions
- Minimum five years of previous experience in theatre
- Proven track record of mentoring theatre team nurses, Operating Department Practitioners (ODP), and support workers (HCT’s)
- Experience and ability to provide direction and professional leadership for all staff in the operating theatre, including support for management tasks like appraisals, rotas, development, retention, and recruitment
