Maths Academic Mentor - About the Role
As a Maths Academic Mentor, you’ll work directly within the Maths Departments of our partner schools, helping students through one-on-one sessions and small group interventions. You’ll assist with revision techniques, provide focused exam support, and play an active role in lesson delivery. From GCSE prep to A-Level tutoring, this role offers invaluable experience within a supportive environment.
Maths Academic Mentor - Key Responsibilities
- Mentor students across year groups to strengthen their understanding and performance in Maths
- Lead small group sessions and provide one-on-one academic support
- Assist Maths teachers with lesson planning and resource preparation
- Offer guidance and targeted support during exam preparation periods
- Help students develop problem-solving strategies and build mathematical confidence
- Degree in Maths or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Passionate about Maths and education, with a natural ability to motivate
- Strong communication skills and an approachable, engaging style
- Driven to support and inspire students at different ability levels
- Interested in progressing towards a teaching career in Maths or education
- Hands-on mentoring experience in high-achieving Maths departments
- Opportunity to gain relevant skills for future teacher training
