SEN Teaching Assistant

A highly regarded primary school in Barnet, Hertfordshire, is looking to hire a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant with a background in psychology. The role involves working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and providing crucial support in both academic and social development. The school has a strong focus on creating an inclusive learning environment where every child is supported to reach their full potential. Previous experience working with children with SEN and strong behaviour management skills are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the class teacher with the daily operations of the classroom.
- Provide targeted assistance to children with SEN, offering both group and one-on-one support.
- Assist in managing behaviour effectively and implementing positive behaviour strategies.
- Work closely with children who require additional help, ensuring their emotional and educational needs are met.
- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
- Degree in Psychology or a related field.
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to support children with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when needed.
- Enthusiasm for working in education and supporting children's overall development.
