We are looking to appoint an outstanding, self-motivated and resilient Class Teachers to work within this Alternative Provision within the Barnet area.

This school offers a range of educational programmes and services for young people unable to attend mainstream schools for a variety of reasons including social, emotional, behavioural and medical difficulties.

This is an amazing opportunity for a suitable candidate to develop their career by joining a talented, hardworking, and friendly team involved in developing first class provision for pupils within KS3 - KS4.

You will be supported by a wider team of professionals to ensure our pupils thrive, have fun and maximise their potential.

What we are looking for:

  • An experienced and energetic Teacher with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment, and positive behaviour management strategies to make a positive impact on the progress of pupils with complex needs.
  • Highly motivated, innovative person with enthusiasm and commitment.
  • A flexible and amenable attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Requirements:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or a recognised overseas teaching certificate

* Experience working with students with SEND within a mainstream or Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) setting is desirable, however ECTs are welcomed to apply.

* Flexible and hard-working nature

* Excellent communication skills

* Existing DBS check on the update service

* Experience of augmentative and alternative communication (PECS, Makaton, Intensive Interaction, Rapid Prompting Method) are beneficial, but not essential.
