Established in 1952, our client is a wholesale bakery supplying high quality vegan and vegetarian bread and confectionery for foodservice professionals all over the world.

Job Description

The Sales Account Manager will drive revenue growth by identifying new business opportunities and managing existing accounts, ensuring the Company meets and exceeds sales targets. They will focus on expanding their presence within the food service sector, including restaurants, cafes, catering companies, and other hospitality businesses.

The Sales Account Manager role will give the successful candidate an opportunity to shape, develop and improve partnerships with key external stakeholders at various levels. Our client wishes to seek an individual who will represent the bakery by being driven, organised and able to work collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities but not limited to:-

  • Develop and execute a strategic sales plan to achieve and exceed revenue targets
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the food service sector, which includes export
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, including distributors and large accounts
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with major customers and partners
  • Execute a plan to ensure a high retention rate of accounts
  • Monitor market trends and competitors to identify opportunities and threats
  • Collaborate with other departments to successfully roll out innovative new products
  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses for senior stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the wider team to align sales initiatives with marketing, product development and production activities
  • Organise and plan delivery of samples for new accounts
  • Complete all new customer data entry and paperwork that is required for new accounts

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience in profitable sales, preferably supplying bakery goods in the food or hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of the food service sector and wholesale operations.
  • Excellent communication, and negotiation skills at a senior level
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building abilities
  • Ability to analyse data and create actionable strategies
  • IT literate, articulate and numerate, with excellent organisational skills
  • Self motivated and results orientated
  • Excellent time and priority management
  • Flexibility to work unsociable hours, and travel away from home if required
