Business Support Officer - Barnsley

(37 Hours/Week, Initial 3-Month Contract)

We're seeking a dynamic and efficient individual to join our team in Barnsley on an initial 3-month contract (with the potential for extension). This role offers a variety of responsibilities, including providing essential business support to front-line and statutory services, ensuring compliance with government guidelines, and working closely with a diverse range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide confidential business support and assist with customer queries.
  • Organise and coordinate meetings, appointments, and statutory meetings, including Safeguarding Conferences.
  • Attend Safeguarding Conferences, take accurate minutes (must be able to touch type), and handle all pre- and post-conference functions.
  • Handle correspondence, manage information systems, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist in the design and improvement of internal systems and processes.
  • Analyse data and produce reports for a variety of audiences.
  • Handle financial administration, including placing orders and processing payments.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Experience in a business support environment, with a focus on confidentiality and sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to take minutes at speed, especially during Safeguarding Conferences.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and managing computerised systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritising tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of local government policies and procedures is beneficial.

Other Requirements:

  • Level 2 qualification in an appropriate area (or equivalent).
  • Emotional resilience in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and a willingness to undertake training as needed.
