Junior Design Engineer

White Label is representing an engineering and manufacturing business in Barnsley that requires a Junior Design Engineer to join their team.

This role would suit someone wanting to build a career as a Design Engineer. You will be part of a close-knit team where full training and development opportunities are on offer.

My client is offering a starting salary in the region of 25,000 + benefits.

Duties of the Junior Design Engineer

• Provide engineering assistance to sales, service, and manufacturing departments as necessary.
• Timely and accurate design/re-design update of company manufactured products to meet company-defined standards and customer requirements with due regard to CE regulations and general health and safety.
• Provision of general layout, assembly drawings, detail drawings, as necessary.
• Processing engineering changes.
• Producing bills of material as required.
• Visiting customers as necessary regarding measure-up/designs (company expense rules apply).
• Any other duties within the capabilities and training of the individual in line with the needs of the company.
• To attend training organised by the company in house or off-site.
• To maintain confidentiality regarding company finances, suppliers, customers, manufacturing, products and designs.
• At all times to present the professional image in line with company standards.
• All duties are to be carried out with due regard to the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation.

Experience required of the Junior Design Engineer

• Minimum of HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3D CAD experience.
• Any mechanical engineering experience can be considered for this role as full training will be provided.
