Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

We are excited to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated and confident Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting pupils with ASD, communication and interaction needs, and/or SEMH needs.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work within our specialist provisions, engaging with pupils who have a range of additional and complex needs. You will be instrumental in using and promoting communication interaction strategies and systems such as Pictorial Exchange Communication Systems (PECS) and Makaton signing systems. This role also involves working with bespoke/personalised curriculums tailored to individual needs.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Facilitate PPA by covering classes and assisting in the development and implementation of educational activities.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in conjunction with the class teacher.
  • Monitor and assess childrenā€™s progress, providing clear feedback.
  • Engage creatively and reflectively within our team, focusing on the best outcomes for our pupils.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils, employing various strategies to meet individual needs.
  • Contribute fully to the life of our school and maintain strong partnerships with staff and parents.
