They are seeking an Employment Specialist to work within the IPS team based in Barnsley. The IPS team help to find meaningful jobs for people we support that suit their skills, abilities and experience, as well as supporting people with job sustainment.

The Role

As an Employment Specialist, you’ll not only transform the lives of the people you work with, but you’re also creating a fairer and more inclusive society. Working alongside their partners in the service, employment becomes a central integral part of the clinical provision provided. This role would be ideal for someone who can demonstrate empathy, confidence, resilience, reliability and a passion for helping the most distant from the job market.

Experience is this field is not essential, however, you will need to demonstrate a creative approach to developing highly tailored support to participants, including in work support as well as people and employer engagement skills. You will be expected to be able to work both independently and as part of the team.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience or an understanding of working with people with substance misuse issues, or similar groups.
  • Experience of working with people on a one-to-one basis, offering motivation and support.
  • Empathy with those with substance misuse needs.
  • The ability to build good relationships with a range of different people, from employers and clients to clinicians.
  • The ability to manage multiple tasks at once.
  • A passion for making a difference to peoples’ lives.
  • A level 3 qualification, or equivalent career experience.

Please note the position requires you to hold a driving licence and access to your own vehicle
