Audit and Accounts Manager

Job role

Barber McLelland is working in partnership with a highly successful and dynamic Chartered Accountancy Practice based in South Yorkshire. Due to the high level of success that the firm has achieved in recent years along with future succession planning, the firm is now looking to appoint an ambitious qualified accountant for the role of Audit Manager, who will have the opportunity and support to develop both personally and professionally.

Duties and responsibilities

The role of Audit and Accounts Manager will support a diverse portfolio of audit clients with specific responsibility for:

  • Management of an audit client portfolio, from growing owner-managed businesses through to large groups of companies
  • Leading audit engagements on-site, with the responsibility for planning, budgeting, completion, and the management of a team
  • Preparation of statutory accounts and servicing client needs
  • Attendance at key client meetings
  • Delegating, supervising and reviewing work of team members
  • Coaching and developing team members on client premises, in the office and where applicable from home
  • Helping to market and grow the audit client base

Skills, qualities and values

To be considered for this position, you must have excellent interpersonal skills, strong audit experience, be ACCA / ACA qualified and currently work, or have very recently worked, within a firm of accountants at either Assistant Manager or Manager level within an audit/accounting environment. Salary and benefits

  • £40,000 - £45,000 depending on skills and experience
