My client are a market leading manufacturer with locations all over Europe, they are currently recrutiing for an experienced Distribution manager to work from their busy South Yorkshire location.
The main focus of this positiom is to manage and lead the fulfilment and logistics functions of the teams based in their Barnsley location.
The successful Distribution manager will over see and implement the fulfilment plan when required ensuring all customers reqquesyts are achieved and the plan is also inline with all supporting transport suppliers. You will alos manage all 3PL transport suppliers ensuring all costs are inline with all the commercial agreements as agreed with the Logistics Manager. There will of course be a collaboration with all commerical and implementation teams re late charges , delivery problems and discrepencies and any other related issues.
Key objectives of the role will be -
- Ensure fulfimemnt and outbound delivery schedules are ahdheraed to as per any agreements
- Maintain outbound delivery quality is maintained
- Maintain effeciency and accuracy in all goods out functions
- Ensure the outbound good loadding plans are executed accuratley allowing for csutomer returns
- Logistics management, coordination and interface with all 3PL providers
- Management of the fulfilment team , ensuring the plan meets the expectations of the customer.
The successful applicant for this role will have at least 5 years’ experience with transport and logistics (Fast-moving Warehouse environment) with proven experience in fulfilment planning. There also needs to be experience in Export distribution (a CPC would be an advantage) You will understand linked operations such as Purchasing and manufacturing with experience of ERP and WMS systems . You will be able to demonstrate team building and Management skills with good numeracy and analytical skills. IT literacy with a good working knowledge of Word and Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook with the ability to create and support functional KPI’s are also a must.
