Long established, UK renowned manufacturing organisation (automotive washing systems) looking to expand its Team capability, seeks bright enthusiastic individuals to join them as Service Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a general understanding of Mechanics, Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics.
The Service Engineer role is offered as a permanent contract with immediate start available, with a competitive salary, company van and mobile phone. This is an exciting opportunity to join the business and play a full part in its future development.
Service Engineer duties would include:
- Conduct root cause analysis and rectification on faulty equipment during breakdowns or service jobs
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on company and customer equipment
- Develop and implement creative ideas to reduce technical failures
- Install and maintain vehicle washing machines and water reclaim systems for bus, truck & rail operators
- Carry out emergency breakdown repairs on vehicle washing equipment and water reclaim systems
- Provide or organise weekend cover and be on standby as required
- Stay overnight when necessary for installing or repairing machines
- Adhere to Company’s Terms & Conditions of Employment and Health & Safety Legislation
- Provide technical support to Sales on machine selection, performance, and capability
- Ensure equipment allocation and stock control meet requirements
- Communicate additional requirements to Service for quotations
- Advise Sales & Service Manager on capacity planning and cost-reducing improvements
- Collaborate with colleagues and service departments to develop better products and improve installation efficiency
- Communicate and document site performance and technical issues to Service Manager, highlighting areas for improvement
- Complete all company documentation accurately and on time
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures relevant to your role
- Request further training or advice when needed to safely carry out duties
Skills/ Experience needed for a Service Engineer;
- A general understanding of Mechanics, Electrics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics – Essential
- Experience with electric motors, drive shafts, pumps, gearboxes, and PLCs/PCBs
- Skilled in machine fitting, plumbing, and electrical work
- Understanding of Health & Safety, with mechanical and basic electrical knowledge
- Experience providing good customer service, including explanations and advice
Location: Sheffield, Doncaster, Stockport and Leeds
Hours of Work: 40 hours per week, Overtime available
Salary: £26,000 to £30,000 plus OTE (negotiable dependent on experience)
