Here at Winner Recruitment we are currently looking for Full-time Process Operatives for one of our well established clients within the Metal industry on a permanent basis.
The successful candidates must have a strong background in processing Special/Exotic Scrap/Revert Metals.
Responsibilities & Duties
- The candidate will ultimately be responsible for the processing, sorting/grading & out-turning of all the incoming materials.
- Knowledge & understanding of the varying āend useā markets for the materials is preferred and experience of segregating materials on a quality & contamination basis for these markets is highly desirable.
- The candidate must have experience in the recognition, identification and reporting of special metal contamination within the materials that may include, foreign attachments/coatings/inserts/tips & repair welds (training will be given).
- Position may require shift working which includes nights (shift premiums).
- The candidate will ultimately report to the production manager.
- Strong written, organisational and IT skills are a must for this role.
- Operatives will have extensive experience of using a multitude of processing equipment such as shears, guillotines, bandsaws, shot blasters, shredders and where applicable chemical cleanings of turnings.
Qualifications
- The successful candidate desirably will have 3 GCSEs at grade C and above.
- A Metallurgical/Materials Qualification would be ideal but is not essential.
- Experience in the sector is preferred due to the necessity to operate safely in the environment.
