Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced SENDIASS Officer to join Barnsley Council's SEN Team on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide timely and accurate information, advice, and support to families regarding SEND processes.
  • Undertake casework, including completing appeal paperwork and liaising with parents and carers.
  • Work at pace to ensure service users feel heard and supported.
  • Engage sensitively and effectively with families, ensuring compliance with the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Collaborate with professionals and agencies to achieve the best outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

About You:

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation, particularly the Children and Families Act 2014.
  • Experience working co-productively with families in a similar role.
  • Ability to work quickly and efficiently while maintaining high standards of service.
  • Confident communicator with excellent organisational skills.
