Senior Surveyor - Acquisitions, Disposals, Commercial Property Management & Valuation
£35-40p/h (Umbrella Inside IR35)
Location: Barnsley
 
What will you do?
We are looking for MRICS qualified surveyors with extensive commercial knowledge. This role covers 3 key areas: acquisitions & disposals, commercial property management, and valuation.
Candidates can have experience in all areas or specialise in one, but must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
 
Disposals and Acquisitions
You will support the Council's 5-year disposal programme, focusing on residential and commercial development sites.
Your responsibilities include preparing sites, conducting feasibility studies, valuations, marketing, negotiations, contract agreements, and completing sales.
You may also provide advice on property acquisitions and compulsory purchase orders, with experience in valuation and negotiation.
 
Commercial Property Management
You'll manage a diverse property portfolio, including retail spaces, industrial estates, and heritage sites.
Your responsibilities will include lease renewals, lettings, service charge management, tenant liaison, and handling landlord and tenant matters.
You will also manage the Council's industrial estates, conduct day-to-day management, and perform strategic portfolio reviews with recommendations for future risks and opportunities.
 
Valuation
The role includes conducting residential valuations (e.g., Right to Buy) and local authority property asset valuations for financial accounting purposes.
