Principal EMC Engineer Barrow-in-FurnessUp to70,000 + benefits (DOE)ARM has partnered with a large Defence client who looking for an experienced Lead EMC Engineer to be based out of their site in Barrow-in-Furness. As the Lead EMC Engineer, you'll have extensive knowledge regarding Electromagnetic design and testing as you'll be leading a team of engineers. Responsibilities:Specify and manage requirements and acceptance criteria specific to a system, platform or programmes.

  • Providing support to the Engineering Manager and/or external specialists in providing transversal support to engineering delivery teams in defining electromagnetic requirements
  • Undertaking specialist testing of systems, subsystems and components in support of achieving contractual compliance for EMC design.
  • Ensuring completed products qualification testing is completed.
  • Advising design teams on EMC requirements and design considerations
  • Liaising with EMC test engineers to design and specify testing regimes to prove system compliance against relevant standards.
  • Designing and implementing system mitigation to meet EMC standards.
  • Mentoring and coaching Engineers within the team

Experience required:

  • Hold a BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent qualification.
  • Ideally be professional registration at Chartered level or evidence of working towards this.
  • Experience of design for EMC compliance
  • Knowledge of EMC Defence Standards would be an advantage. (Def Stan 59-411 pt 3)
  • Proven experience and ability to coach, train, and mentor others in a team.
  • Be eligible to obtain UK security clearance at SC level.
