Principal Product Safety & Environmental Engineer
Pay: £55.31 PAYE (£63.35 ph Inclusive of holiday pay) or £74.68 ph Umbrella
Location: Barrow, 1-2 days per month (if needed)
Contract length: 12 months

Working in a growing multi-programme product safety and environmental capability with a team of Product Safety and Environmental Engineers (with a range of qualification and experience) delivering quality outputs to a defined programme schedule

Typical duties include (but are not limited to):
• Undertaking Product Safety functional design analysis (Hazard Identification and Hazard Analysis).
• Producing Product Safety functional justification reports.
• Liaising with a wide range of stakeholders both external and internal to the business.
• Providing technical guidance and direction to less experienced team members.
• Providing specialist Safety advice to system engineers on a range of Submarine Programmes.

Key Skillset:
• Previous Submarine experience, particularly Power and Propel functions.
• Experience of producing technical reports to a high standard.
• Experience in undertaking Probabilistic Analysis.
• Understanding of Functional Safety.
• Experience and/or understanding of techniques to support Hazard Identification (HAZID) and Hazard Analysis (HAZAN).
• Experience of producing Formal Safety Assessments.
