Flexible start & Finish times.
Location: Barrow-In-Furness
Hybrid Working Available - 1-2 Days Per Week
Hours of work: 37 Hours - Overtime (Double time for anything able two hours)

Role & Responsibilities:
* Supervise and conduct analysis and experiments to support system qualification
* Support progression of design optimisation
* Produce and review radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions
* Direct development of in-house toolsets in support of the department goals
* Lead detailed shield design, balancing build requirements alongside system performance requirements

Qualifications/Experience Required:
* Relevant STEM degree in Physics/Mathematics/Chemistry/Nuclear Engineering
* Demonstrable experience of radiation transport codes such as MCNP/MCBEND/Attilla
* Understanding of radiation physics
* Experience of radiation safety studies & behaviours
* Experience of radiation metrology
* Knowledge of the ALARP principle
