We are currently seeking a dynamic English Teacher to join a school in Cumbria on a long-term basis, starting immediately. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the curriculum, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and effective English lessons to students at KS3 and KS4 levels; experience with KS5 is advantageous.
  • Utilise strong subject knowledge to inspire and motivate students.
  • Maintain high standards of classroom management to ensure a conducive learning environment.
  • Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance teaching practices and learning experiences.
  • Participate in and contribute to the school’s programme of extracurricular activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Recent and relevant experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4 levels; KS5 is desirable.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of acting as a good role model for students.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with attributes of compassion, trustworthiness, politeness, and good listening skills.
  • Must be punctual, patient, and confident when working with children.
